Mid November Day by Damion Daniels

It was cold

the leaves were crisp

the trees were bare

It was mid November

The deer alert and quiet

They prance their way

through the frost

Pausing every hundred yards

to feed

I sat still

like and owl

waiting and watching for

my prey to come out

At last a deer came

It stopped grazing at

the pasture of clover

glistening with the sun.

It crouched

closer and closer

I realized it was too small

my nerves were relieved

This is my mid November day.
