"Take It In Before You Can’t" by Ian Strange

I want to go everywhere

To see everything and anything

It comes with a price tag, a disapproving look, or a time of regret

All that the world has to offer no matter if

To say that I’ve done it is all that I really need

The experience.

People feel like they need

emails, phone calls, and details

Because everyone is so caught up

in trying to get what they want in life that

they don’t know what they’d do if they got it.

Like dogs chasing cars and not knowing what to do if they catch one

rather than duck and weave through their chaotic life

people just need to Stop.

And breathe

with more than one wife

since in this country we have a 50% divorce rate and thats still climbing.

Stop.

It’s time to detach ourselves from that life

and live the one we all want to live

chains, blinds, or pains you because

away from anything that

would you rather live on your knees or die on your feet?

I prefer the latter.

take it in in hopes that your Life means more than just following a system.

More than being a dog who chases cars without thinking about why.

But before you do that just take it all in.

More than just abiding to the norms.

Stop.

Think.

Now go back to your life

Start to do what you want and do what you need

not what someone says you need

but do it all with a ferocity and devotion

so much that when you die on your feet

you go into that dying light with a smile

which is more than can be said for most.
